THE DOWNSTAIRS STUDIO

THE UPSTAIRS STUDIO

The Upstairs Studio is a beautifully curated open-plan space designed to look like multiple rooms in one seamless setup. Kitchen, dining, living, workspace - all styled with intention, all camera-ready from the moment you arrive.
Each ‘scene’ has been created to give your content variety and depth, without needing to move through multiple rooms or rearrange a single cushion. It’s one space - but when you see your content, it’ll feel like five.
And while it’s perfect for creators, it’s just as powerful for business owners. Hosting a team off-site, a strategy day, or a client masterclass? The upstairs space flows like a beautifully styled home, not a studio set - so it still feels elevated and cohesive, even when you're not behind the camera.
Better still, it opens onto a large, private balcony - one side styled for 2 person dining, the other for lounging - giving you even more shoot-ready options and space to breathe. Outdoor content without leaving the studio? Rare. Gorgeous. Game-changing.

A few things to note:All events at Sobu are self-styled and self-managed. You’ll have full access to the space, and the freedom to bring your own dream team.
If you're looking for support - whether it’s catering, florals, photography or furniture hire - our Content Concierge page has a curated list of local vendors who can help bring your vision to life. (These are external suppliers, so all bookings and coordination happen directly with them.)
To make sure every event at Sobu is aligned and seamless, bookings are handled individually. You won’t find event hire in our online calendar - just fill out the Contact form or email us directly and we’ll talk through the details together.

PODCAST ROOM + OFFICE SET

Tucked upstairs, the podcast room is your private creative zone, perfect for recording, filming, meetings or just taking a quiet moment away from the action. Styled as a modern office with a skylight overhead and a calm, elevated vibe, it’s designed to flex with you.
Purpose-built during construction the room has been professionally acoustically treated to ensure your recordings sound as good as they look.
This is a self-serve space, created to give you freedom and flexibility. Bring your own equipment, or add SOBU’s RØDE Two-Person Podcasting Package (coming soon) to your booking for access to professional-grade microphones, headphones, boom arms and a RØDECaster Duo mixer, ready to plug in and go.
If you’d like extra support with setup, recording or editing, you can easily book one of our trusted podcast professionals through the Content Concierge.
Planning to film your podcast too? Bring your own camera or phone, lighting is included with the audio gear hire, and phone tripods are available to use in-studio.
Not recording? Use the room as a workspace, client meeting area, prep zone, or even a green room during events. It’s also the perfect private space for getting ready before a special occasion. Bridal touch-ups, outfit changes, or a quiet moment before you hit record or walk out.
When you book the podcast room, you’re not just booking a single space, you have access to the entire Sobu studio. Record your episode, capture promotional visuals, shoot content, and host your team, all in one inspiring location.

Sobu was designed with versatility in mind, giving you endless backdrop options to bring your vision to life.
• Coloured Paper Backdrops:
Choose from Terracotta, Peach, and Nude. All 2.7 m wide and available as an add-on at checkout.
Hire is $100 + GST (includes up to 2 x 2.7 m of usage), with additional metres charged at $50 + GST.You’re welcome to use one colour or all three, it’s simply based on total paper used.
